Skillet Get Ready to Drop New Album

On the heels of the most successful record of their career, Atlantic/Ardent/INO Records’ active rockers Skillet will end the nearly 3-year spanse between projects with Awake, available in stores and at all online retailers on August 25th.

Produced by Howard Benson, (Daughtry, My Chemical Romance, The All American Rejects), the project is available now for pre-order via the band’s official website. A variety of packages are being offered, pairing the album with such bonuses as an exclusive Skillet t-shirt, an autographed VIP pass, and membership in Skillet’s official fan club. All pre-orders come with an immediate download of “Hero.”

Nice. Always loved me a bit of ‘Skillet’. Although i’m a little turned off by the choice of production, not a fan of AAR or MCR…

Could still be great though, the last album was a little weak in compariosn the previous effort imo.

Hmmm, not too keen on that “Hero” track. I’ve heard it on Air1 a few times and…meh.

This track sounds just like their other stuff. Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it or whatever. Even so, I’m not sure I’m all that impressed.
