Hello. My name is Mitch. I play music in After Edmund. Sometimes being able to laugh at your own mistakes is healthy…they say. However, after our set tonight I was furious with myself. I started out the night by tripping and nearly falling flat on my face during the first measure of the song; yes, the first measure! I followed that up by playing most of the first song with one of my strings slightly out of tune. Slightly could translate to LOTS. I know, pretty awesome huh? I was in panic mode by this point; I just knew the audience could tell I was freaking out!
I thought I had recovered and was back on track when I played a wrong note in “Like A Dream”………TWICE! By this time, I was really mad at myself. Here is a song I have probably played thousands of times, practiced for countless hours, and I make a careless mistake like this? Unbelievable! I made it through the rest of the set flawlessly and everyone said, “great set” when I walked off, but you and I know the truth, musicians are human.
After Edmund was introduced to Christian music fans on last fall’s SHOUTFEST Tour, and this winter with Seventh Day Slumber. Early rave reviews from outlets like CCM Magazine, Christian Retailing, Christianity Today and CMCentral.com have made After Edmund 2008’s debut artist to watch! Recent appearances on shows like The Harvest Show, Revolution TV, GOD TV and Gospel Music Channel’s Hot List didn’t hurt either. For more information, visit: www.afteredmund.com.
