Introducing Tyler

By Carried Away • Nov 24th, 2008 • Category: Artists in Residence

It’s Tyler (the new guy). This is the first blog I’ve ever written. I don’t usually do this sort of thing, but Pam and Christine have been doing it for a long time, and they wanted me to give it a try. So here it goes…

I was born at a very young age, and started playing piano when I was 5. I played “Hot Cross Buns” really well at age 6. When I was 7 I didn’t want to turn 8, but when I turned 8 I had a Robin Hood themed birthday party – with 2 Maid Marians that came to the party. When I was 12, I recorded my first solo CD called For You. I was a boy soprano, which basically means I sounded like a girl when I sang. A lot of people listen to the CD and think it’s a girl…so it makes sense that I’m in a band now that used to be all women. I actually saw my CD at Goodwill the other day. I almost picked it up…it was only $2.99.

When I was 15 years old I joined a band called GODROCKS. I traveled with them for almost 4 years. When I was 17, I graduated from the Canadian National Conservatory of Music in piano and theory and moved to California to study music a couple years later. I came back home in January 2008 and met Pam and Christine in February 2008 at a home church gathering. They didn’t know that I had been doing music all of my life, and I didn’t know that they were in a band…but God worked it all out and now we’re together traveling around North America.

By the way, Pam is afraid of birds, Christine is marrying my brother, and I have a really cool hat that has a bear face on it.
