Brewing Excitement

Hello! Mitch here…. So here we are again…Working on new songs and it seems like something I look forward to until we actually start! It’s always a humbling time for me. I have snippets of ideas, lyrics and hooks always accompanied by the feeling that none of it is any good. This time around is very different from the way we wrote the first record. We have a “Band House” now…kind of a makeshift studio of sorts. What’s so different? Instead of everyone sitting together in one room working together on the arrangements followed by making a demo of the song, circumstances have caused us to record demos in pieces.

For example, Yates and I have a song that we have been working on without the other guys because they weren’t able to be there on certain days. We record the song and then the others come in one by one and listen to it as well as our other ideas and then they add to it. As a result we haven’t actually played most of the new music together at the same time. Kinda weird huh?! It is kind of cool too…lots of ideas and more time to think about which ones might be best for each song. Excitement is brewing around the Edmund house as the new material is starting to come to life!
