Review: Laura Kaczor – Restore Me

LauraKaczorLaura Kaczor’s career has been on a steady rise for the past several years. The indie artist has seen her star glow brighter and brighter as she’s garnered acclaim across many fronts and has added a number of Billboard Top 25 radio singles to her mantle. Her fourth album, Restore Me, doesn’t break stride with her path, as she continues to offer up a solid vocal delivery around radio friendly adult contemporary arrangements.

Review: SHINEBRIGHT – Only You

ShineBrightThe past couple of years have been ones of transition for husband and wife Emily Irene and Nathan Fertig. After the success of their debut recording Dreamers under the moniker Shine Bright Baby, the duo has made a lot of changes, reducing their roster to just the two of them and switching up their name to SHINEBRIGHT. What hasn’t changed for this talented couple is their commitment to making excellent music and that’s readily apparent on their latest EP, Only You. Produced by David Thulin, the record captures the breadth of SHINEBRIGHT’s diverse sound and despite being an EP, will have plenty for listeners to enjoy for some time.

Review: Owl City – Mobile Orchestra

Since his humble beginnings as an indie act in 2007, the artist has seen his star continually brighten over the course of several releases with hit singles like “Fireflies” and “Good Time” cementing him in the Top 40 pantheon. Now Young is back with more of his signature, electronica-fueled pop on Mobile Orchestra, and he’s brought along some friends to help him out.

Review: The Monks of Norcia – Benedicta: Marian Chant from Norcia

MonksofNorciaIn the mid-90s, the musical world was rocked on its heels by the out of nowhere success of Chant, a collection of Gregorian chant record by the Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos. The initial recording peaked at number 3 on the Billboard charts and sold over six million albums worldwide, leaving pundits scratching their heads at this unprecedented success. Twenty years have passed since that album’s release and the world has become even more complicated and people once again find themselves seeking solace in the simple and authentic. The Monks of Norcia and their debut recording Benedicta: Marian Chant from Norcia is here to fill that void.

Review: Jeff & Sheri Easter – Small Town: Celebrating 30 Years of Music & Marriage

JeffandSheriEasterIt’s often said that life in a band bears many parallels to being in a marriage. Traveling together, spending time together, and dealing with the little ins and outs of life are all a part of the behind the scenes musical journey. And it’s those same elements that have led to the demise of many a group, leading to many a divorce of musical minds. That challenge has to be that much more real when you’re traveling and working with your spouse but as Jeff and Sheri Easter have shown, a life lived in faithfulness and trust can result in great things. The Easters celebrate this commitment on their latest album, Small Town: Celebrating 30 Years of Music and Marriage, giving honor to the blessed life they’ve led together.
