Andrew Greer and Cindy Morgan Shine at Amy Grant’s “Tennessee Weekend”
Dove-nominated singer/songwriter Andrew Greer and mutli-Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter Cindy Morgan were recently invited to share their unique folk/Americana hymn arrangements during “Amy Grant & Friends – A Tennessee Weekend.” Pictured at Grant’s Nashville-area farm are (l-r) Greer, Grant, Morgan and guitarist Kyle Buchanan.
“A Tennessee Weekend” brought together Grant’s fans from around the world for three days of exclusive concerts and activities at the iconic artist’s farm. The event also served as a fundraiser for multiple charities, including “Hymns for Hunger,” an initiative founded by Greer and Morgan last year to help raise awareness and resources for various hunger relief organizations.
Greer’s latest recording, Angel Band: The Christmas Sessions, is set to bow next week. The second offering in his acclaimed Angel Band series, the project features three original songs, along with new folk/acoustic-inspired arrangements of eight traditional selections. Once again collaborating with some of the top names in Americana and Gospel music, The Christmas Sessions includes contributions from GRAMMY® and Dove Award-winning recording artist Sandi Patty; Morgan; the legendary McCrary Sisters; and acclaimed singer/songwriters Phil Madeira and Emily Deloach.
One of Christian music’s most influential singer/songwriters, Cindy Morgan has garnered 12 GMA Dove Awards, including the prestigious Songwriter of the Year trophy. With 21 #1 hits to her credit, Morgan has penned songs for such artists as India Arie, Point of Grace, Mandisa and Francesca Battistelli, among others.
